Overview

You can study Bachelor degree in English taught program in Germany without having to learn German or attend the foundation course. There are many public and private universities offering hundreds of Bachelor degree programs in English, however not all the programs are offered in English given the fact that German is still the predominant language for teaching and learning in Bachelor and Master level in Germany. 

The number of programs offered in English in bachelor level is still very less compared to the number of programs offered in German. Most of the English taught programs are offered by smaller and newer public universities and many private universities. 

Whether you can study Bachelor degree in English in Germany will depend upon the following factors:

  • Your academic qualifications from your home country
  • Recognition of your academic qualifications in Germany - whether or not it is equivalent to German Abitur
  • Your choice of degree program 
  • Your choice of university and city 

You have the option of studying Bachelor degree in English at a public or a private university based on the program of your choice and the location. The only difference between studying at a private or public university is the tuition fees. No matter whether you choose to study at a public university or a private university, the quality of education is nevertheless same as education is regulated by state.

There are many programs offered in English in Bachelor level at many public universities and the number is growing day by day. You can study Bachelor degree in English provided that your academic qualifications are considered to be equivalent to German University Entrance Qualification and you have the required English language proficiency. Some programs are also offered as bilingual programs which means that you will in general need to have English (at B2 level) and German (at A2/B1) level. We strongly recommend you to learn German as much as possible for your day to day life and to find some part-time jobs during your studies even if you are applying for studying Bachelor degree in English taught program.

Admission Requirements: 

In order to apply for one of the above programs, you must have:

  • passed your first year Bachelor degree in related subject or
  • have completed A-levels with English language and Literature and have the required subject combination
  • at least 50% in your first year Bachelor degree or C in A-levels 
  • English proficiency with score of 6.0 in IELTS or equivalent test 
  • some basic knowledge of German at least up to A2 level

2. English Taught Foundation Course 

If you have studied Management in 10+2, you have the possibility of studying English taught foundation course at UE Europe provided that you have B1 level in English language (IELTS 5.5) without having to learn. The foundation course at UE Europe is subject to tuition fees. Upon the completion of your foundation course, you can also apply for studying English taught Bachelor degree at a public or private university.

Admission Requirements

In order to apply for the English taught Foundation course at UE Europe, you must have:

  • at least GPA 2.5 in 10+2
  • IELTS score of 5.5 (5.0) or similar score in equivalent test
  • some basic knowledge of German at least up to A2 level
